The Austin Polish Film Festival (APFF) has been celebrating Polish cinematic and poster arts since 2006. Once a year in the Fall, we present award winning works in many different genres by both accomplished and starting filmmakers. Our guests include directors, actors, screenwriters, producers. Since 2015, APFF has been hosting an international short film competition open to independent filmmakers from around the world. Traditionally, a Polish poster art exhibit is an integral part of the festival events (This year “Polish Poster Art: From City Streets to Gallery Walls” is on view at the Austin Central Library). Often, the audience of the festival benefits from historical introductions by invited out of town guests or scholars from local academic centers.
